Sollecitati dalla cittadinanza intendiamo prendere posizione sulle deprecabili condizioni di incuria e di abbandono in cui versano i giardini pubblici della “Passeggiata”, il parco “Ciaurro” e tutto il verde e l’arredo urbano della struttura del parcheggio interrato di via della Rinascita / Porta S. Angelo.
Interveniamo pubblicamente per cercare di portare il problema all’attenzione dell’intera comunità cittadina e soprattutto dell’Amministrazione Comunale.
E’ sotto gli occhi di tutti la situazione in cui si trova il principale parco comunale di cui dispone la città. Lo stato di abbandono e di degrado è generale e diffuso, basta fare una breve ricognizione al suo interno per notare lo stato pietoso in cui versano le poche panchine rimaste (alcune sono del tutto inutilizzabili), la sporcizia e il degrado delle fontane ridotte ad un mero “spettro” di quello che erano un tempo, gli arredi in pietra ormai consumati e completamente imbrattati da mani irrispettose che con troppa facilità scorrazzano all’interno del parco, l’organizzazione del verde è vecchia and devoid of any logic distribution.

Purtroppo numerosi gruppi di “sbandati” frequentano assiduamente il parco ed il risultato è quello di dover registrare frequenti episodi di vandalismo ai danni degli arredi pubblici, per non parlare poi del sempre più crescente rischio di fare “brutti” incontri all’interno del parco stesso. Anche in questo caso secondo noi è necessario l’intervento dell’amministrazione pubblica che da un lato vada ad istituire un efficiente servizio di sicurezza e dall’altro vada ad operare un intervento di manutenzione straordinaria che possa riqualificare l’intero spazio verde.

Di fronte ad una situazione del genere ci sembra ovvio concludere che, ancora una volta, l’amministrazione comunale debba farsi urgentemente carico di un’ opera di riqualificazione urbana ormai improcrastinabile, visto anche la centralità ed il valore simbolico e storico delle strutture interessate.
Speriamo vivamente che questo nostro intervento possa servire, a smuovere le coscienze di chi di dovere a Palazzo Spada, ma state certi che, if this does not happen, we will be ready to go back again and again with more force on the subject.
